back to school 2018.

i feel like each summer with our kids gets more and more fun. we had the best summer break this year - i did not want it to end! but, alas, it did. and on august 13, the boys headed back for another year of school.

chet is in third grade with Mrs. Ezor.
and holden is in first grade with Mrs. Glenn.

both boys got the teachers we had requested, and both of them have had a great first few days. i think it will be a great year.

now can we start our countdown to next summer break?? ;)

11th anniversary.

matt and i celebrated out 11th anniversary this year. CRAZY!
we have now been married more then a third of our lives!

to celebrate, we snuck off to cabo for 4 days. we stayed at an all-inclusive resort, called secrets. it. was. awesome.

we enjoyed sleeping in a bit later than the normal 4:45am alarms, working out TOGETHER, laying out, swimming in the beautiful pool, indulging in the tastiest food and drinks, and being able to hang out just the two of us.

things worth noting:

- we participated in a group water aerobics class one morning. it was hilarious!
- i tried sushi for the first time, and i liked it. i was pretty proud of myself.
- we had to attend a 2 hour high pressure sales meeting where they tried to sell us time share at their resort. it was soooo high pressure! matt and i look back and laugh at how ridiculous it was. (don't worry, we didn't cave!)
- apparently cabo is known for having unsafe beaches, due to strong currents, so you have to be really careful which beaches you go to. the beach at our resort was not safe. but one day we went into the city of cabo san lucas and got to get in the ocean there. unfortunately, we had no friends to leave our valuables with, so we were stuck taking turns swimming in the ocean. haha which is super lame!
- we bought our children lucha libre masks, as souvenirs.

while we were in mexico, the boys went to my parents' house. they were so excited to go there! when asked if they would like to join us in mexico, or go to phoenix, they looked at us like we were nuts! we feel so lucky to have family who is willing to take our three boys so we can get away. what a treat!

my parents kept our boys busy with all sorts of activities - swimming, golf-cart driving, an arcade, tie-dying shirts, going out for pizza, a movie, bahama bucks, back to school shopping, and new hair-dos. they had the best time!
