we went for a walk around the timpanogos temple yesterday.

it was the perfect outing for a sunny sunday afternoon.

the grounds were beautiful - so many flowers.

we need to check out some of the other temples that are close by. there is no shortage of them, that's for sure!

 

the pool at our complex isn't open yet, so we resorted to playing in the hot tub yesterday. it did the trick.

chetty loves water.

we put a big bucket of water out on our patio for chet to splash around in. he loves it.

it is funny how the simplest things make him the happiest - splashing in water, tossing rocks, jumping on the bed.

another thing that makes chet smile is singing songs.
his favorites are 'twinkle twinkle little star' and 'popcorn popping'.
he calls them 'dwinkle dee' and 'pops'  :)


i fall more in love with chet everyday.

we switched chet to a real bed when we moved into our new place.

i am sooo not ready for my little boy to be in a real bed!

 but we figured it needed to happen with the new baby only a couple months away.

chet is a very careful boy so we were pretty sure he wouldn't want to get out of the bed without our help. and we were right.

he just calls for us when he wakes up and waits for us to come get him.

he has done so good with the change.

i think he feels special in a big bed. he doesn't usually want to get out of bed now!

for those of you who plan on making the move to a real bed in the near future, i found a neat idea on pinterest that worked for us..

we put a pool noodle under the fitted sheet along the outside edge of the bed to keep chetty from rolling off.

and it works like a charm.

another 'big boy' thing that chet has been up to lately is saying prayers.

a couple nights ago we decided to let chet say our family prayer before bed. (with help, of course)

it kinda went like this:

father.

thank you bed.

thank you tanky.

thank you mommy.

thank you daddy.

thank you fun.

jesus.

amen.

his prayer was so simple, but matt and i both felt the special spirit that chet brought to the room. it was precious.

i have heard lots of little kids say prayers like his before, but this time it really hit me that Heavenly Father listens to even the simplest prayers.

it will be exciting to watch chet gain his own testimony as he grows.

we have been absolutely spoiled with family time the past 11 days.

matt met chet and i down in arizona on the 8th and our little family has been inseparable ever since.

matt just started his internship today.

it has been lovely :)

we have been able to spend all sorts of time doing fun things with chet.

the only downside is that, after all that special time with dad, chet was pretty bummed when i was the one who got him out of bed today.

when he saw me he started crying and saying, 'no! daddy!'

if i didn't think that matt deserved all the fuss i would have been offended... but matt and chet have a cute bond that i am never going to beat.

matt and i got to see the hunger games when we were in arizona.

i am a pretty picky person with movies so i was definitely nervous that this movie i had been anticipating for months would be a disappointment.

but i was pleasantly surprised.

i must admit that i thought the book was better, though.

and i feel so mature saying that!

i have never ever believed people when they say that a book is better then a movie. but it's so true.

you could never have the same love for the hunger games movie as you can for the book.

we snapped a few pictures before we headed out on our big date night.

this next picture makes me so happy! haha chet thought of this cool pose all by himself.

we are officially living in utah now.

it doesn't feel the littlest bit real yet.

perhaps because our apartment is still a total disaster...

my parents drove down to help us move.

and when i say 'help us move' i mean they 'moved us'.

i honestly have the most thoughtful parents in the world.

they drove down to idaho, picked up a trailer, grabbed our things out of our storage unit, drove it to utah, and moved it all into our apartment.

spoiled, huh?!

and i should probably mention that matt and i were still playing in arizona while they did all that!

thanks again mom & dad!

our new place is nothing special, but it will be perfect for the little bit of time we are here.

it is much more roomy then our rexburg place - lots of space for visitors! (hint hint).

we went to dave & busters last night (it is basically a chuck-e-cheese for adults).

one of the highlights of the night was snapping this picture:

i'm a lucky girl - married to a boy who looks a whole lot like the justin beiber doll!

but that isn't all matt has going for him.. he is also an absolute brainiac.

matt just found out his grades for this past semester... straight A's... a perfect 4.0 this semester!

and, trust me, it has been a crazy busy semester. so this sure wasn't easy to do.

i'm so so SO proud.


on another completely different note.. we got our tax return back today.
and, i gotta say, this is one time of year when being a poor student family is really fun :)

today, at the pool, these teenage boys were referring to chet as 'the cool baby'.

it made me laugh! obviously i think he is a stud. but i also know that he is a total weirdo!

chet is LOVING arizona.
my parents are spoiling him with all sorts of attention. {which is just as much a treat for matt and i as it is for chet!}
and he is playing his little heart out.
the swimming pool is our best friend this week.
our apartment in utah has a pool, so i think we will be spending a whole lot of time in it this summer. and i can't wait. :)

on saturday my parents and i took chet to another easter egg hunt.

we thought it started at 11 so we got there right on time.

but turned out there were easter activities at 11 and the hunt wasn't until 1. soo... we had some time to burn!

we did all sorts of fun things while we waited - checked out the petting zoo, played at the park,

ate a sno-cone, watched ducks, and ran ran ran.

by the time for the easter egg hunt rolled around chet was pooped. and being told to wait any longer was hard to take!

the egg hunt turned out to be quite impressive - definitely worth the wait.

there were thousands of eggs!

chet was so excited to fill his bucket. i was dying laughing at how cute he looked running around!

i hope chet is as excited for easter next year because this year was a blast.

it makes me sad that chet is too old to fly for free anymore.

but it was actually so nice that he had his own seat this flight. it was much less stressful.
he looked too cute sitting in that big chair with a laptop.

chetty has no idea how lucky he is.

this was his 12th time on a plane and he just turned 2!

the cichy's put together a little easter egg hunt for chet and summer.

it was chet's first egg hunt. so cute.

 spring has arrived in rexburg. it makes us sad that we are leaving.

rexburg is the perfect little city in the summer.

we are hoping pleasant grove will be a fun place to spend this summer. we are excited to check it out.

10 days until we move there.

until then, we will be spending our time soaking up the sun in AZ :)
