today was chet's first day in sunbeams AND holden's first day in nursery.
2 big changes in 1 day.. talk about pulling on my heartstrings!
our little boys are growing up so fast.
i was worried about the changes, but we ended up having 50% success rate.. so i'll take it!
chet loved sunbeams.
he likes his teacher and his class, and he is excited to go back.
easy peasy.
holden... well, he wasn't super thrilled about nursery.
he is at a super clingy stage so i wasn't really surprised.
the nursery leaders in our ward are so great though.
they really encourage parents to drop their kids at the door and just leave.
and, even though it makes me tear up when i do it, i think it works.
matt and i feel like going into nursery to help our kids adjust would just delay the inevitable.
the ditching method works especially well in our ward because the nursery is really small.
there were only 4 kids and 2 leaders today.
i know a lot of the wards that have something like 40 kids and 2 leaders! and dropping a sad child in that isn't very realistic.
holden cried a good chunk of the 2 hours he was in there.
[i know that because the YW room is right next to the nursery, and i could hear him perfectly!]
but i know he will learn to love nursery - new toys, tasty snacks, and lots of kids to bop on the head - what's not to love?!
i guess it just takes our kids some time to fall in love with the whole idea..
but, happy or not, holden looked handsome for his nursery debut.
and chet looked handsome for sunbeams too.
