chet's last day of school was june 1.
he is now officially a second grader. ahhh!
he seriously did so great this year!
we are nerdy proud parents over here.
chet has developed such a love for writing and reading this year, his report card said that he is either meeting or exceeding all first grade expectations, and he received 3 awards at the year end award ceremony - academic achievement, citizenship, and principal's reading award. he has made a whole bunch of friends and matured in so many ways.
chet had a hard time saying goodbye on the last day of school. i think it was because last year, when he left school, he also left the country. i think he associates the end of a school year with lots of change and goodbyes when, really, he will be back with the same friends at the same school in just a couple months. i am sure next year will be easier on him. although, he has a tender heart and tends to cry anytime things change (juuuust like his mom!).
chet's teacher, mrs glenn, was a dream some true. she was a perfect match for chet's sweet personality, and he now sees her as a friend. i really hope holden gets to be in her class when he is a first grader, too!
chet is a kind, smart, creative, funny, likable boy. we love that he is a good friend, a great student, an outstanding brother, and our darling first born. he makes us so proud!
now he's off to second grade. but first, 73 days of summer. woohoo!
lined up for his last morning assembly as a first grader.
this picture makes me laugh because it looks like we bought mrs glenn flowers.. but we did not!
we call this four cuties 'the wednesday crew' because we met at the park across the street from the school for a playdate every single wednesday after school. they are good buddies! valentina's mom bought them all these matching shirts to sport on the last day.
ice cream party for the last day of school.
