i forgot to share the best story from my race!
so here it is..
the race didn't start until 9:00am, but they were busing runners to the start line at 5:00am.
and i honestly have no idea why!
i was dreading having to hang out in the tent at the starting line for almost 4 hours.
i didn't know anyone else running the race, so i pictured myself having to pretend to be busy on my phone for several hours!
but a very friendly girl ended up sitting next to me on the bus, and talked my ear off the whole drive... until she started to feel car sick.
oh, great.
car sickness is exactly what i wanted to deal with at 5:00 in the morning!
i had a bag that i was going to put my extra layers of clothes in and leave at the drop off when i started the race, so i jokingly told the girl that if she gave me fair warning i would empty my bag so she would have somewhere to get sick, rather then on me.
turns out she was feeling sicker then i thought... and ended up needing my bag. awesome!

despite that nasty start to our 'friendship', we ended up spending the next couple hours hanging out together. she even talked off a couple other girls' ears and made me some other pre-race buddies. so it wasn't all bad!
the time passed much faster with some chatty girls to hang with.
and i found a garbage bag to put my clothes in. it was gigantic and made me feel really ghetto.
but it beat getting puked on. i honestly would have DIED!
