someone {who has waaaay too much time on their hands} built an amazing snow fort in the parking lot of our church.
all the snow in the parking lot had all been plowed to one corner of it.
and it's a huge parking lot, so they had a lot to work with!
matt and i had noticed the fort a couple days ago, when we drove past the church, and i have been wanting to get a closer look at it since then.
so today, the boys and i walked over to the church to check it out.
i had forgotten to get our double stroller out of the back of our car before matt went to school, so we had to use the single one.
i wasn't sure how chet would respond to sharing the only seat in the stroller with holden.
sometimes it is hard to share.
so i told chet i was giving him the 'extra special job' of holding his little brother.
he loved it.
he kept asking holden if he was ok. and it melted my heart.
[don't worry, they were kind of buckled in.]
we invited max to come play with us too.
when max got there, we did some sledding.
i hadn't gone sledding with chet for a while.
and, i gotta say, i was completely surprised with how brave he has become.
it was fun to watch him do wild things. very out of character.
and while chet played, holden just slept.
chet is still caught up on christmas.
we go for a drive at night he asks where all the christmas lights are.
every time!
and then, when we tell him they are gone, he wants to know when they will be back.
umm.. they won't be back for a while, buddy. i wouldn't hold your breath!
so i am attempting to turn his attention towards valentine's day.
unfortunately, when i was explaining valentine's day to chet, i said something along the lines of:
'it's a special day.. like christmas.'
terrible choice of words!
to start getting in the valentine's spirit, i cut out hearts and chet taped them on our front door.
he kept putting all the hearts in the same small area of the door, so i asked chet if he thought it would be a good idea to spread the hearts out a bit.
he agreed.
and proceeded to put 1 measly yellow heart at the very bottom.
and now that is my favorite part :)
a mirror!
we had another successful visit to storytime at the library this week. yay!
that was, until i wanted to take a picture of us.
i should stop hoping for a really great group picture. it never happens.
and these kind actually make me pretty happy!
i know you are all dying to know how our bean plant is coming along, so here it is.
in all its bean glory.
day 12.
