every once in a while, my birthday and easter align. i don't really understand how easter's timing is decided - something about full moons, and the spring equinox, and the first sunday after something important happens... - BUT i do know how the timing of my birthday is determined! and sometimes the 2 line up. unfortunately, california is an easter snob and there are no days taken off work or school in honor of it here. so it didn't really benefit me to have a birthday on good friday this year. bummer. but, it still made for a weekend full of lots of fun!
to celebrate easter this year, we decorated eggs with our friends, went to an easter party and egg hunt at the library by our house, and did an easter egg hunt in our yard on sunday morning.
(tad chose not to participate in the egg decortating this year. he was more interested in playing in the backyard!)
as for my birthday, it was a good one. i was all stressed about turning 30 last year but it actually turned out to be a good year. i feel like i have made lots of really good changes in my life that make me feel healthier and happier then i have been in years past. i have set new goals for myself to work on this year, and i am excited to see where 31 takes me!
matt and the boys (but mostly matt, if we are being honest!) made the most amazing crepe cake for me. not only was it really pretty, but it was seriously so delicious! and with good reason - it had like an entire pound of butter, a whole container of nutella, and 30 crepes in it! it took matt hours to make it.. a true labor of love.
and this was a different time i got sung to. spoiled, right!?
