olympic oval field trip.

yesterday, chet's class (and a bunch of others from his school) got to go to the olympic oval for a skating field trip.
the whole family was invited to join so matt and i both planned to attend.
(just holden didn't come because he had a birthday party to go to at the same time - so much fun, so little time!)
i didn't expect it to be super successful - based on the not-so-happy experience chet and i had last year on our skating date - but we ended up having a really fun time.
thank goodness they had those 'skate aid' things that kids can use to help them keep their balance. without that, chet would have spent most of his time on his butt.
and thank goodness i had the stroller to hold on to because they only rented out hockey skates and i am definitely a figure skates kinda girl.
i was blown away by how talented some kids were on their skates. there were tons of little hockey boys who were making me feel really bad about myself!

chet wasn't always this bad, but i am posting this video because it makes me laugh!
click here to watch the sketchiest skating you ever did see.

and, for the record, tad celebrated his halfy birthday on the 23rd.
tad is officially 6 months now.
matt and i agree that tad is is our happiest baby yet (and that's saying quite a lot because we are yet to have an especially challenging one).
we love tad.
this is a picture of him 'helping' me make crepes.
