the leavitts.

we totally pictured ourselves moving into a cute starter home after matt graduated.

something with a backyard, and a garage, and a basement.

we were gonna have all this space for our stuff, and for our kids to play in.

and we were finally going to have a yard that we could toss our dog in to do his business, rather then taking him on 4 walks a day. ugh.

it was all really exciting to think about.

but alas, we are in yet another 2 bedroom apartment.

i'm not complaining.. we really like our apartment.

but it's just not what we had pictured.

we both grew up in the suburbs, so raising 2 kids in an apartment is kind of foreign to us.

but chet doesn't care that he lives in an apartment.
that's basically all he has ever known.

he thinks it is great that he gets to push elevator buttons 85 times a day.

and he loves that his voice echos in our parking garage.

and he likes how the groudskeepers are always saying 'hola' to him.

although, he has no idea what that means!

and we are all loving the amenities.

matt likes grilling us up tasty meals on the BBQs.

[and i love that it means i don't have to cook meat. because it's not my forte.]

i use the gym every morning.

at 4:30.

AM.

haha oh man!

i have always run before matt leaves for school/work because, if i don't, it never happens.

and if i don't get my run, i'm grouchy.

but this is the first time matt has had to leave so early.

so i am trying to adjust to getting up at such a ridiculous hour!

it actually works out alright because we are both ready for bed pretty early.

and we decided to go without cable, so we don't very that distraction keeping us from heading to bed early.

so ya, the gym is super handy.

and the pools are probably our favorite thing.

there are 2 pools.

we alternate between them, based on the type of people who are lounging at them at the time.

there aren't a lot of kids in these parts, so we carefully choose which non-kid people we want to grace with the presence of our little stinkers!

the boys and i use the pools all the time.

poor matt doesn't get to as much because he has to work.. lame.

but sometimes we plan it so that we are at the pool when he gets off work, and then we get a quick dip as a family.

the boys get braver each time we go to the pool.
it's fun to watch.
and they are always exhausted when we get home.
believe it or not, i had a pool in my canadian backyard most of my life.
i remember my mom saying how nice it was that i would play in it all day, and then i would be sooo ready for bed at the end of the day.
and that is exactly how i am feeling these days.
we play hard for a few hours at the pool, and the rest of the night is easy peasy.
[not that the playing at the pool part is all that hard either!]
